CarDheko, a renowned automobile firm that lists prices, reviews, and details of various automobiles released the results of their latest survey. The survey portrays that over 60% of customers, 66% to be exact, are preferring EVs at the moment. Although the sales of electric vehicles have been low since they entered the market, the survey predicts that they will increase drastically in the next few years. As car manufacturers are introducing their electric variants gradually into the Indian market, customers are curious about how different it is compared to regular fuel-powered vehicles. These electric variants now have quite a large fanbase, and the circle keeps growing. However, one of the major reasons for the gradual growth of EVs in India is due to the lack of charging stations. If charging stations were present at least every 200 kilometers on National Highways, then EV sales in India would have skyrocketed. The Indian government is taking action towards achieving this in the next couple of years or so, hence as the first step towards that, the Delhi government has passed around a tender to set up 100 EV charging stations all over the city. This could be expected to happen in other states soon. Over time, the number of customers for EVs will also drastically increase as the facilities increase. With more EV companies entering the Indian market, the facilities for them will also increase very shortly.
